90% story 10% point by Florian Mueck

Moving from one cave to another cave must have been a nightmare for our ancestors. Every single time. And how did they survive? Brave cavemen must have told the others how to get there safely. Those guys must have been great storytellers, because our brain remembers stories. Our human race did evolve and so did my didactical approach in my trainings. Today, I anchor literally any point with a story. I refer to concrete situations with concrete characters, I use dialog, I share personal failures and lessons learned. And when I want you to remember how to bring your characters to life with (my own version of ) NLP, I don’t just say it. I tell you about Mark Brown and his $40 and his suitcase and Andrea. With 90-10 people will remember your points more easily.

Get Rid of Distraction

Successful public speaking correlates so much with good preparation. Always be well prepared when you enter a stage and talk to an audience. A small but important part of this preparation is to get rid of any potential distraction for your audience. My goal is to prevent any form of visual or auditory distraction. Coins or keys that make jingling sounds in my pocket? No way. Expansive bracelets or earrings, if I were a woman? No way. And that conference name tag flying around in front of my chest? Definitely no way!
